Disability Challengers is a Surrey-based charity, dedicated to providingessential leisure, play and learning experiences for any disabled childand young person with an impairment. Started in 1979, it now ranks as amajor provider of leisure, respite and support programmes for 1,000families with disabled children in Surrey and the South East by offeringa wide range of fun and challenging activities for children of allabilities.

Play is important to everyone, but it is especially meaningful fordisabled children, being the most effective way to help them developsocially, intellectually, emotionally and physically.

Disability Challengers has taken the lead with a unique partnership withWhite Lodge Centre, Link Leisure, Redhill YMCA and Surrey CountyCouncil. The partnership has devised a system to provide 11,500 play andleisure places for disabled children and young people in Surrey, makingit the largest service of this kind in the country.
