NCB Now: Involving children and young people

1 min read
They say that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts and the Participation Works consortium is testament to this principle, drawing together a wealth of knowledge from six leading children's and young people's agencies to provide free resources and training.

Barbara Hearn, chair of Participation Works, said: "Our consortium members have a common commitment to involve children in decisions that affect them, and we all want to ensure quality. Collaboration is the only answer, and the broader the collaboration, the better. Working together allows us all to deliver greater quality while reaching a greater audience. Each member complements each other."

Participation Works' recent conference event is a concrete example of how collaboration can work. NCB was involved in chairing and organising the conference, at which a publication produced by the Children's Rights Alliance for England was launched. Young people represented The National Youth Agency by exhibiting their products and services.
