The forum keeps a collective overview of the quality of participation work and considers what standards and challenges exist within each sector.
NPF is concerned with the effective and inclusive participation of children and young people to debate issues, celebrate differences and develop consensus to champion the wider adoption and delivery of the participation by children and young people in matters that affect their lives.
NPF also provides a platform for participation professionals to exchange expertise and ideas on participation to enable maximum impact in reaching the most vulnerable groups of young people and different sectors. As the participation of children and young people is now a legal requirement in service provision in the children's sector as a whole, NPF is looking towards the long term, with clear definitions of how to work with children and young people aged from birth to 19, and up to 23 for those who are vulnerable, in England.
