- What is EDCM's latest campaign?
We recently launched the briefing Disabled Children and Housing, which calls on all government and social housing providers to prioritise the housing needs of families with disabled children. The briefing was supported by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, whose research shows families with disabled children may be the worst housed families in Britain, with fewer than half living in housing that meets their needs. - What are some of the big issues you are raising?
Families with disabled children have said their biggest single concern is lack of space - they are 50 per cent more likely to be overcrowded than other families. Physical access is also a problem, as well as barriers to the financial and practical support they need. There is a real need for better information on housing services so families can make informed choices and decisions.
