NCB Now: Conference explores rural childhoods

A two-day conference taking place in Peebles, Scotland, on 10 and 11 March will examine early years policies and services for children in rural communities. The event is being organised by NCB's partner organisation Children in Scotland.

A sense of time, a sense of place: meeting the needs of the whole child in rural Scotland, will consider how early childhood experiences can affect lifelong learning, health and happiness.

The conference will focus on how children can be helped to understand their local environment and develop a sense of community.

Speakers will include Jacquie Roberts, chief executive the Care Commission, and Euan Robson, MSP, deputy minister for education and young people.
