Assets, families and children: investing in our future will look at the opportunities arising from Child Trust Funds and other asset-based welfare policy initiatives. There will be a keynote address from John McFall MP, chairman of the Treasury Select Committee, while Bob Friedman from The Corporation for Enterprise and Development in Los Angeles will outline policy experiences in the USA.
There will also be a presentation from children and young people on what Child Trust Funds mean for them.
"This is a unique opportunity to hear from children and young people themselves on whether the Child Trust Fund is a good idea - and what use they could make of it," commented Bronwen Cohen, chief executive, Children in Scotland.
