European child policy experts met in Brussels this month to urge the European Commission to take a stronger lead on early years to help eliminate child poverty and improve services.
Children in Scotland's chief executive Bronwen Cohen, who chaired the meeting, called on member states to take a wider approach to provision for children.
An event, "Improving the Wellbeing of Young Children in Europe: The Role of Early Years Services", will be hosted by Scottish Labour MEP Catherine Stihler and organised by Eurochild with Unicef.
