I am originally from the Philippines. When I arrived in Northern Ireland a year ago, I was really shy. When I joined Young NCB, I gained more confidence, and it has helped me become a responsible teenager. With the other 13 members of Young NCB Northern Ireland, I have discussed young people's issues, how we can tackle them and how to make our voices heard.
We are currently working on health issues for teenagers, and met Caroline Evans from the Office of the First Minister to make an action plan on issues such as eating disorders. We also came together with the Northern Ireland commissioner for children and the Youth Forum to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child with a project called We Want the Airwaves.
