Dolores Cristina, Maltese Minister for the Family and Social Solidarity,opened the fourth annual conference attended by around 120 internationaland over 60 Maltese delegates. Among them were 20 young people fromGermany, the UK, Cyprus, Malta and other countries, who discussed theirviews and actively took part in and facilitated one of theworkshops.
The conference focused on three issues crucial in preventing socialexclusion and poverty among children and young people in Europe: familyand parenting support, child and youth participation and early yearseducation and care.
Each theme was explored through workshops and participants had theopportunity to hear a representative from the European Commission aboutchild poverty in the EU's social inclusion agenda.
