National Youth Agency: Young voices but mature views

1 min read
The Centre for Excellence and Outcomes in Children and Young People's Services (C4EO) has launched a microsite on its website to help children and young people understand the work that it does and to give a better understanding of best practice, enabling them to know what to expect from services.

The microsite, Children and Young People's Views on C4EO, breaks down each of the themes covered by C4EO, explaining them in terms that are accessible to children and young people. Each section includes views from children and young people, key messages from the research and links to reports and websites.

Professionals working with children and young people will also find it beneficial, as it can present them with a platform to lead discussions around difficult topics. It also provides a place to steer young people to who want to participate more in society.

All web pages include quotes from children and young people in different situations. These help to give a better understanding of the issues faced by young people, why young people and their families are sometimes reluctant to take up public services and what would be more effective ways of engaging them.
