The National Youth Agency: Centre for Excellence and Outcomes announces priorities for youth theme

1 min read
The Centre for Excellence and Outcomes in Children and Young People's Services (C4EO) has announced the priorities for its youth theme through which evidence about what works will be shared with the sector.

The theme will be lead by Rod Norton, director of business development at The National Youth Agency (NYA). It starts in September and runs until March 2011. Priorities are:

- Increasing the engagement of young people in positive activities so as to achieve the Every Child Matters outcomes (and contribute to the achievement of Youth PSA 14)

- Delivering better outcomes for young people by increasing the impact of targeted youth support and development

- Children and young people make healthy lifestyle choices by reducing their alcohol consumption and so improve their health, safety and wellbeing

Norton said: "The commencement of the youth theme offers a significant opportunity for C4EO to support local authorities and their partners in delivering positive outcomes for young people.

"The youth theme priorities will allow us to uncover what makes a difference to the lives of young people in three key areas and to share and develop effective practice across the country."
