The service already has successes to build on, including their involvement of young people in recruitment and selection, and partnership working to respond effectively to youth homelessness.
Head of service Sharon Moore acknowledged more needs to be done: "Young people in trouble are seen as the least deserving because of the challenges they pose. We must understand that they have every right to tell us what they think. We are totally committed to using Hear by Right to make sure our young people have a voice and are responded to effectively."
The NYA is keen to hear from and work with Crime and Disorder Partnerships and other YOS or YOTs that have a statutory duty as part of children and young people's trust arrangements to involve young people in the design, delivery and evaluation of the services they receive.
