My Life: Stephen Donnelly, 17, Germany

1 min read
For more than two years, I have been involved with the Arts Award scheme in Service Children's Education (SCE).

Living on a forces base in Germany, opportunities to engage with the arts are relatively sparse. Prior to the Arts Award I took on roles in local theatre and school plays, but these were few and far between.

I was selected as a member of SCE's pilot group for the Arts Award, and have reaped the benefits of SCE's wholehearted investment in the arts. I narrated a professional standard film, commissioned by SCE, which tracks the development of the programme in forces schools. I also had the privilege of attending SCE's annual Arts Summer School to London and workshops with practitioners from Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.
