Beach Bash Bosh was an event at Blyth Beach on Saturday 28 April. It was a fun day packed full of live music, dancing and activities, including bungee running, inflatables, an assault course and a whole lot more.
It was organised by the Northumberland Youth Cabinet, an elected representative body of young people that puts forward the views of their peers at monthly meetings with councillors.
They also aim to improve the lives of young people in Northumberland in a number of different ways, one of those being through projects.
These projects aim to promote a positive image of young people by showing what a difference we make to our community. They also have a positive message – recent projects have included climate change workshops, stamping out stereotypes and a talent show.
We decided to do a large charity event to raise money for two charities very close to our hearts: Help for Heroes and Depaul UK, a homelessness charity. As well as raising money, we aim to show that young people are doing something positive.
We have learned a lot along the way. I never thought I would be able to play a role in organising a huge event like this. I have really enjoyed it and I would feel confident organising events in future.
