I'll never forget getting to the top of a climbing wall at the age of eight. It was a massive moment for me, just as climbing a mountain in the Swiss Alps at 15 was.

Scouting has helped me grow as a person and step out of my comfort zone in so many ways.

During my eight years as a Scout, I have been given so many opportunities to try new things and I've picked up so many skills - around leadership, teamwork and citizenship, plus I've helped the community around me.

All my experiences have helped me to become a more confident young person. As well as the bigger adventures I've been on, such as going on international camps, everything I do at weekly meetings encourages me to live life to the full.

All of these experiences helped me to gain the skills I use as a young leader.
