Further funding has also been made available through the Big Lottery Fund. The aim is to update play equipment and make sure it is fully inclusive for those with disabilities and for all children aged from birth to 16.
What changes are taking place?
The flagship revamp is at the Capstone Farm Country Park. New features will include play equipment designed in the shape of a submerged shipwreck. Riverside Country Park is also being updated. Among the equipment at both Capstone and Riverside are basket swings for toddlers and roundabouts for all ages and those with mobility issues. All the changes were based on the views of children and parents who attended consultation events.
