World Jungle Global Play Project -- Gloucestershire and Bristol

1 min read Early Years
What are they doing? Children have been learning about other cultures as part of World Jungle, which brings children from different backgrounds together through play projects in local parks.

Project manager Ben Ward explains: "It broadens children's horizons and experiences and it's a fun way of educating children."

What do the children do? The project involves community artists and play workers from all over the world. Children play traditional games from different cultures. "It's great because while they see there are differences in each other's cultures, they also notice how similar they are too," says Ward. The children also learn about different types of arts, crafts, dance and music.

How does it work? Artists and play workers receive training to deliver the programme to children living in areas most in need of cultural integration. The project works in partnership with play schemes, venues and local parks.
