1 min read
Joe Hindle, 13, and Chris Layfield, senior youth worker at Richmondshire 4Youth Service, North Yorkshire

When did Joe first start coming to the project?

Joe: "It was about two years ago. My cousin came here and I heard there were lots of games going on. My friends came here as well. "

How involved is Joe in the youth club?

Chris: "Joe comes to our open-access sessions and he and a few others have opened their own after-school youth club for Year 8 pupils on a Tuesday. They have complete ownership and run all the activities. They have a rota and divide up the different jobs. Some will have responsibility for running the kitchen; others will get the games out or look after the homework room. Joe also helps out with a disability group on a Thursday.
