- When did you first meet?
Kendal: "It was about three years ago. My older sister used to go to the youth club and I decided to come along too. I really enjoyed it so I've been coming ever since."
Derek: "I knew Kendal's older sister already and she just followed her down to the Brinkburn Youth Centre one day. At the time she was in Year 7 and seemed to lack a bit of confidence."
- What have you worked on?
Derek: "Kendal is very mature for her age but she went through a period when she went off the rails a bit. She started drinking and getting involved in fights. We put it down to her just wanting to try new things. When she told us what she had been doing, we did some one-on-one work with her and also ran some group work sessions on alcohol misuse."
