London Marathon Charitable Trust

1 min read
What is it? The London Marathon Charitable Trust Grant provides funds to charity projects that create sports and recreational facilities. Since 1981, grants totalling more than 30m have been awarded. Some of London's 2012 Olympic facilities have been funded by the trust.

How much is on offer? Grants of between £250 and £150,000 are available and the trust likes to support as many projects as possible. Applicants must prove they have made efforts to raise other funds, as these grants are not intended to be the sole monetary source for a project.

What will it fund? Projects that can demonstrate community demand for their proposed facilities will be considered, and priority will be given to schemes that will develop participation in sport, recreation and play. The trust's objectives are to provide grants for recreation or leisure facilities, and it will not consider applications for amenities that are solely for education or health.
