Unfortunately, most residents see young people just hanging around on street corners and being a nuisance. I would like to change the perception some people have of children and young adults aged 12 to 19 years old.
I would do this by forming an organisation similar to Career Academies UK, to improve the opportunities available to young people so that they can explore their skills and learn new things. This organisation could work with other local projects, like the Trinity Centre's Project Dost, which already helps young people by providing extra-curricular activities and after-school clubs.
The government could help by investing money in these local projects so they can offer a wider range of activities. It could also help by organising more community events so that a variety of ages can work together to put any differences aside and work alongside all schools to organise more educational trips.
