I went into care when I was five months old because of problems at home.

I stayed in seven different foster placements before I was five, and then my aunt was able to look after me. She then went on to adopt me when I was eight.

Although I can't live with my dad, I see him nearly every week, which is brilliant and we have a great relationship. I also see my birth mum twice a year and my half-brothers and -sisters several times a year. I see my birth sister regularly as well. Keeping in touch with everyone gives me a sense of who I am and I feel I am still part of a large family. It also helps me understand why my life has taken the path it has and why my parents couldn't look after me. Living with my aunt yet still having regular contact with my family makes me feel very happy and lucky.
