The Ofsted inspections of child jails absolutely fail to get to grips with the way children are treated. It allows the profit-seeking companies that run them to claim they have a clean bill of health.
Rainsbrook STC holds highly challenging and vulnerable children, two of whom have died recently and almost all of whom will go on to commit further offences on release. Inspection systems do no one any favours if they fail to protect the vulnerable.
