Letters: NON-FORMAL LEARNING WORKS

1 min read Letters
Giving young people the confidence and skills to get into work, training or full-time education is a key element in resolving the problem of helping them get themselves out of being not in education, employment or training.

Many young people who find themselves in this situation often have complex issues.

They need more accredited stepping stones gained through non-formal learning before they can even reach NVQ Level 2. Without confidence and the ability to interact and manage their behaviour they cannot access any form of training.

In this economic climate, it is even more important young people have a wide range of skills which they can demonstrate to employers alongside formal academic skills and many of these can be gained through non-formal learning.

We know this approach works.
