Letters: Children Now's support is vital

1 min read
Following the publication of the Treasury and Department for Education and Skills review Aiming High for Disabled Children, we are writing to congratulate Children Now on its coverage of disabled children's issues.

Children Now's support for the parliamentary hearings on services fordisabled children last year was essential to spread the word as widelyas possible.

The Inclusion Charter you published in partnership with ourorganisations is the latest sign of your commitment to putting disabledchildren at the heart of the children's agenda (Children Now, 16-22May).

With 340m of investment, a new national indicator on disabledchildren and a "core offer" for every family with a disabled child, these are exciting times.

But there is still much more to do - not least to put services forchildren and families on a rights basis, like the Children Now Manifestodemands for short breaks.
