When the consultant at the hospital first mentioned multiple sclerosis (MS), I didn't know what it was. I thought I'd heard of it but had no idea what it consisted of. It took a full year for me to get a confirmed diagnosis of MS.

The first symptom I noticed was not being able to walk in high heels when I went out and overnight my writing went from being neat and tidy to illegible and messy.

Everyone has down days but it's important to look on the positive side of things. There are lots of support groups out there and articles that help to explain what MS is. I've also recently started making a film about MS, in order to reach out to the younger generation and make them aware of it.
