My day starts at 7am. I need to take care of my mum. She has arthritis in her wrists and ankles and there's a possibility it will get even worse. She can't lift heavy objects and is frightened of falling over. I've had to call the ambulance when she's had accidents in the past.

If anything is wrong with the house, I help her negotiate with the council. This winter I made sure they fixed our radiator and gas heater. I have to make sure she pays the bills and stays on top of everything. Sometimes I struggle to sleep at night and I wake up with a fright when I remember a problem.

I cycle seven miles to college every day, where I study for my National Diploma in Land-based Technology. I'm also working on a Mediabox film for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

My attitude to life is to live it to the full. Don't miss a minute or live life in regret.
