Interview: Not one of the bully boys - Chris Cloke, chair,Anti-Bullying Alliance

Wristbands are so over. Lanyards are now where it's at and Children Now knows this because the Anti-Bullying Alliance has ditched its Anti-Bullying Week wristbands for keyring and mobile phone attachments.

Chris Cloke, chair of the alliance, says that the young people theyasked preferred the idea of anti-bullying lanyards they could attach totheir pencil cases and bags to the blue wristbands that were a keyfeature of the first two anti-bullying weeks. "Lanyards, like thewristbands, are there to raise awareness and drive the anti-bullyingmessage home," he says.

Since its launch in 2004, the profile of Anti-Bullying Week has beengrowing steadily. Cloke reckons this year's event, from 20 to 24November, will be the biggest yet. "Each year it gets better andbetter," he reveals, adding that the week is also capturing the interestof children's magazines.

"The NSPCC has been doing work with Sugar magazine on Anti-BullyingWeek. There is increasing coverage for the event and it certainly seemsto have got the interest of Sugar readers."
