The education system can be a legal minefield for parents looking for advice on issues such as special educational needs, bullying or school admissions. It can also be difficult for them to find the information they need, and this is where the Advisory Centre for Education's Step By Step programme comes in. The independent charity aims to disseminate the information to agencies that are more likely to have initial contact with parents, especially those working with disadvantaged families.
