1 min read
What it is: A dedicated sexual-health advice bus for young people in Enfield and Haringey, north London

Goals: To offer a comfortable and informal drop-in service where young people can set the agenda for discussion

Funding: From the Teenage Pregnancy Unit, ring-fenced until 2006

Contact: Telsa Walker, project worker, 020 8442 6892, telsa.walker@haringey.nhs.uk

Since its launch in September 2001, the 4YP bus has succeeded in giving sexual-health advice to hard-to-reach groups.

The bus, which is claimed to be the only one of its kind in the country, tours the London boroughs of Enfield and Haringey and holds fortnightly sessions at regular sites including Edmonton Green Shopping Centre. Schools can also request the bus to visit them as part of their personal, social and health education programme.
