Information, advice and guidance: Sector leaders publish framework for guidance

1 min read

The National Association of Connexions Partners, the Institute of Career Guidance and the Association for Careers Education and Guidance have published Supporting Choices 11-19+ in the run up to the production of quality standards for information, advice and guidance for 11- to 19-year-olds. Draft standards are due out this month.

The Supporting Choices document, which shares its title with one of the main strands of Youth Matters, is designed for local authorities. These will have responsibility for commissioning the information, advice and guidance received by young people from 2008.

It sets out what information advice and guidance should cover, the provision young people should be entitled to at each age, the criteria it needs to meet and how it should be delivered.
