The government has unveiled plans to extend free childcare to two-year-olds. Free places will be offered to the 15 per cent most disadvantaged two-year-olds in each local authority area with the first schemes starting in April. The National Academy for Parenting Practitioners is offering free training to local authorities in England on a variety of evidence-based parenting programmes. The training is open to practitioners from children's centres and extended schools. www.parentingacademy.org
