In Practice: Roundup - DCSF to fund holiday pilots

The Department for Children, Schools and Families has announced funding of 5.5m to help find innovative solutions to gaps in holiday childcare provision. The money will cover 10 pilot schemes. The department has also revealed the regional breakdown of extended schools funding for 2010 to 2011. www.dcsf.gov.uk

Bike clubs designed to get young people cycling will be set up in schools across England thanks to a scheme run by ContinYou, UK Youth and the cycling organisation CTC. The two-year initiative is funded by Cycling England and the Department for Transport. www.continyou.org.uk
