The National Children's Bureau is hosting a conference to explore how children's centres and extended schools can be more accessible to disabled children and their families. The Extending Inclusion conference is on 21 October in London. Call 020 7843 6442.

The government is looking at creating a "benchmarking system" to help children's centres ensure they offer value for money.
