Parents are experts on their family's needs and can offer insight into how services can best support them and other families. Services developed with input from parents are more likely to be useful and well attended. Listening to parents can help build trust and confidence in services.
1. Think widely when you're thinking about parents. The term parents should include anyone who is bringing up children such as grandparents, carers and foster carers. Make sure you're asking parents about things where you really can make changes and their views may make a difference. Always give feedback on what has happened as a result of consultation.
