Lynn Soussi began her career as a young teacher in Southwark. Now, having spent 20 years in Australia, she is back working with children and families in the London borough.

As the family support and outreach co-ordinator for Coin Street, Soussihas put together a family support programme using all her experiencefrom working on opposite sides of the globe.

Coin Street Community Builders, a social enterprise project that hastransformed London's South Bank, is gearing up for the opening of a9.4m neighbourhood centre in September this year, which willinclude the Coin Street Family and Children's Centre.

The family support programme is a taste of things to come at the centreand has proved very popular. It is funded by Coin Street CommunityBuilders, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and Lambeth andSouthwark early years services.

The programme, which has been running since September last year,includes parenting courses, baby massage, and family learning.
