Sportsmatch is a Government-funded scheme that makes awards to organisations, including schools, running projects to increase participation in sports at a community level. It does this by match-funding commercial sponsorship.

Usually the minimum amount of sponsorship it will match is 1,000,but it is 500 if you are a school. The maximum is 50,000.Previous award winners include Devizes School in Wiltshire, which gained10,000 from Sportsmatch to run sports camps during the summerholidays. The web site has funding criteria and contact details forregional managers. There are separate Sportsmatch schemes in England andWales.
