In Practice: Cash in hand: First Light Movies

First Light Movies funds film projects for five to 19-year-olds and is especially keen to support work with those aged 12 and under.

Grant programmes are open to schools. The What's the Big Idea? Award supports young people to generate film ideas, the maximum grant is £3,000 and the next application deadline is 31 March. The Pilot Award offers funding of up to £5,000 to enable young people to make a short film. The next deadline is 31 March. Funding of up to £30,000 is available through The Studio Award to make two to four short films. The next deadline will be announced shortly. All programmes require some match funding.
