This Big Lottery Fund programme provides grants of between 10,000 and 500,000 to help improve the quality of life for local communities and people most in need. This may include hard-to-reach groups. The Big Lottery Fund will consider applications from children's centres and extended schools for projects outside the curriculum. Local people and those who will benefit should be involved in the projects, which ought to be community driven. Projects have to create better chances in life, develop stronger communities, improve rural and urban environments or encourage healthier and more active people and communities.
