The three-year programme, which opened to applications last month, is funded by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and run by the Big Lottery Fund. Grants of between £1m and £5m are on offer to partnership projects, which must involve young people and be backed by the top-tier local authority. Bids must also fit in with other strategies for play and school buildings. There is £160m available in the first funding round, including £50m through a fast-track route. Fast-track applications are due by 29 July while the standard route closes on 30 September. See feature, pp20-21
