In Practice: Cash in hand - Groundwork

Groundwork is a federation of trusts in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, which support community regeneration and environmental projects. Trusts do not give out grants but can help forge partnerships with organisations that do.

Many of Groundwork's goals tie in with those of children's centres andextended schools, such as helping children and adults learn new skillsand strengthening communities. Groundwork does a lot of work in schools, from environmental education projects to revamping school grounds.Trusts might also get involved in creating new play areas or communitygardens.
