I am a childcare provider working with a mainstream primary school and near a special school.

My premises are Disability Discrimination Act compliant but I have had arequest to provide places for a child with an autistic spectrum disorderand his brother who attends the primary school. Where can I go forsupport?

- Extended services offer a real opportunity for special schools to workin collaboration with other agencies and organisations, as well as withmainstream schools, to make further progress on inclusion. This ishighlighted in a case like yours where parents would ideally wish toaccess the same provision. In your case it may be a great opportunityfor the special school to provide training and support to your staff orto help in drawing on resources. You could also look at training routesthat draw on expertise in the voluntary and community sector.
