As a developing extended school, how can we ensure we offer a positive range of opportunities?

As part of a wide range of activities and opportunities, many schoolsare also building in time to relax, chill out and play freely. Manylocal authorities will be developing play and leisure strategies andthere are likely to be opportunities to link with these. A new programmefrom the Big Lottery Fund has been established to support play inEngland and again it will be useful to look at opportunities to linkthese projects with development around schools. What's more, as schoolsdevelop services in response to children's and young people's needs, thedemand for enjoyable activities is likely to come through strongly.Building an approach that includes play and fun into the whole range ofactivities is likely to increase uptake and ensure ongoingengagement.
