The Ends, slang for the estate, is the result of a six-month project run by crime-reduction charity Crime Concern's Kickstart programme, which works with eight- to 25-year-olds on 10 estates in Southwark, south London. The film was written, directed and performed by 30 young people from the Kickstart scheme, in partnership with independent film-maker Link Productions. It has been nominated for "best short film" at the Raindance Film Festival.
