Five charitable trusts are supporting the initiative, badged Fear and Fashion. They have chosen Crime Concern's Kickstart project, Working with Men, Paddington Development Trust, Leap Confronting Conflict and Rainer to take forward the work. The organisations were chosen for their ability to target different groups in different settings.
Each will be funded for three years to carry out anti-knife work in a London area, with the possibility of a two-year extension.
Kickstart is to receive 100,000 a year to undertake its work in Southwark and Lambeth. Programme manager Soye Briggs said that its work will have two components: a community scheme, and school-based work.
