The Accord Group, which includes Ashram Housing Association and Redditch Co-operative Homes, is working with the Neighbourhood Resource Centre for Central England to recruit eight young advisers from schools in the region. The centre will carry out interviews for the positions - which will be filled by 16- to 19-year-olds - in July and August.
The appointees will represent the Wolverhampton, Sandwell and Dudley areas, and will carry out research projects on subjects they have identified as being important to their peers.
Meresh Kumari, project officer at the Neighbourhood Resource Centre for Central England, said the advisers will carry out research "looking at the role of young people in antisocial behaviour, as well as reducing carbon footprints, and raising awareness of climate change".
