Help from ... The Children's Trust

This month, The Children's Trust celebrates its 20th anniversary as a registered charity. Each year it supports more than 200 children and their families from all over the UK.

From 1927 until 1983, the charity's headquarters, Tadworth Court in Surrey, was the country branch of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.

In 1984, management control was transferred to The Children's Trust.

The charity's services include long- and short-term respite care and residential and day education through the independent St Margaret's School.

It also runs an outreach service to support children with profound disabilities, and life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, in their own homes.

And its rehabilitation service provides care, therapy and education for children who have sustained a serious brain injury through accidents, heart attacks or after a stroke.
