Help from ... Rainbow Trust Children's Charity

The Rainbow Trust Children's Charity provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.

Support is available from diagnosis, throughout the illness andbereavement. Support can be provided on a 24-hour basis for families incrisis.

The charity runs two respite houses - one in Surrey and the other inNorthumberland - that provide a break away from the pressuresencountered at home or in hospital.

Family support workers employed by the trust provide practical supportin the home, helping to ensure normal activities continue. They mayaccompany parents and their child to clinic and hospital appointments ortake siblings out for the day. The charity also runs a helpline.
