Health: Positive outcomes should be priority

Evidence gathered during the 2.5m research into the creation of the National Service Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity Services identified a range of gaps in the research available. These were detailed in last week's Areas for Further Research document.

The framework's authors identified several holes, including UK-specific studies, information on how interventions affect different groups of young people and data on the long-term effects of some interventions. The Government said its research programme would address these problems.
