Health News: Scotland - YoungMinds trains care managers

YoungMinds is to start training social care managers in Scotland who work with looked-after children from next year.

The mental health charity has been conducting training for frontlineprofessionals who work with looked-after children in Scotland, includingShetland and the Western Isles, during the past year. It now plans tochange the emphasis of the training.

Lee Miller, consultancy and training manager for YoungMinds, said thenew training would emphasise ensuring that good practice continued afterthe training had finished.

The revised two-day course places a greater emphasis on training socialcare managers of residential and fieldwork units.
